| Residential Substance Abuse Treatment for State Prisoners
Grant Application (RSAT):
The Residential Substance Abuse Treatment (RSAT) program funds are available to provide specialized drug treatment to state offenders. Program requirements are absolute and cannot be waived. Cash or In-Kind Match is required (minimum of 25 percent).
The Colorado RSAT project is designed to work specifically with the state’s statutory requirements for offender assessment, referral and treatment in substance abuse programs.
- Address substance abuse issues and develop behavioral, social, and vocational skills.
- Provide appropriate intensive residential treatment for inmates.
- Utilize 10% of the funding at the local jurisdiction level.
- Develop a greater continuum of relapse prevention and aftercare services.
Consideration for funding will be given to correctional projects at the state or local government level. The announcement of the availability of funding outlines the criteria for eligibility, requests specific goals and implementation plans, and describes the reporting requirements that all selected projects must agree to provide. RSAT projects must deliver adequate and appropriate services as dictated by the state oversight agencies governing corrections and treatment activities. Projects must identify coordination activities with any other federal funding received to maximize the use of federal funds for the target population. The RSAT grant is open for applications at this time.
The due date for proposals is October 14, 2011 by 3:00 p.m. Applications submitted after this time and date will not be considered for funding. The Residential Substance Abuse Treatment (RSAT) program funds
