Colorado's Three- Year Plan
and
2009 Formula Grant Program Application

As a recipient of federal Formula grant and State Juvenile Diversion funds, the Office of Adult and Juvenile Justice Assistance (OAJJA ) is required to complete a Three Year Juvenile Justice Plan (with annual updates) and an Annual Report to the Governor and State Legislature. The plan is completed in conjunction with Colorado's Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Council (JJDPC) and includes a description of the organization, responsibilities, and functions of the major components of the formal juvenile justice system. The JJDPC also conducts an analysis of current juvenile crime problems and juvenile justice and delinquency prevention and educational needs within the state. Based on the magnitude, seriousness, rate of change, persons affected, and other aspects of a problem, the JJDPC then selects which program areas will be its priorities for use of the federal funds. The Annual Report which covers both federal and state funding, is filed with the Governor and State Legislature and includes a review of the priorities, a listing of accomplishments over the past year and a roster of funded projects with an accompanying map by judicial district.
