Scholarship Request Procedures
Scholarships are awarded on a reimbursement basis only; agencies will receive payment for all approved training costs. Requesting agencies are required to register (and make payment for course fees and all associated costs (materials, travel, etc.) in advance of scholarship reviews. Payment is not made directly to training vendors, only to law enforcement agencies in the Greater Metro POST Training Region. Scholarship Requests must be submitted by the 15th of each month for review at the monthly Metro POST Training Region Committee meeting. Payment for approved scholarships will be processed within 30 days.

Peace Officer Training Project
Colorado Senate Bill 03-103 created a funding opportunity to provide regular quality training programs to P.O.S.T. Certified peace officers as described in CRS § 16-2.5-102. Colorado law enforcement agencies and training providers can seek and receive financial assistance for training programs through this Bill.
Sworn law enforcement personnel from agencies within the Greater Metro P.O.S.T. Region are eligible to participate in this training project. Download the training application from this site and complete the form.
Greater Metro Training Region
The Greater Metro P.O.S.T. Training Region consists of all state, county and local law enforcement agencies in Judicial Districts 1,2,17 and 18 (Adams County, Arapahoe County, Broomfield County, Denver County, Douglas County, Elbert County, Gilpin County, Jefferson County and Lincoln County.)
Mission Statement
The mission of the Greater Metro P.O.S.T. Training Region is to provide quality law enforcement training to the peace officers who serve communities within this training region.
Governing Committee
The Governing Committee consists of members from law enforcement or law enforcement training organizations within the Greater Metro P.O.S.T. Training Region. The Governing Committee will be responsible for communicating with Colorado P.O.S.T. on training initiatives, provide direction and guidance on training issues, authorize funding for the development of curriculum and training, set forth policies and procedures pertaining to training, develop and revise operating procedures as necessary, receive and act on financial reports from the Fiscal Agent, establish the budget, and provide requested training reports to the Chief Executive Officers of law enforcement agencies within this training region. Additionally, the Governing Committee shall review and approve all training applications based on the region’s procedures.
